As per many of my design collaborations, we thought through how we can feasibly improve upon the entire chain of custody. for one, eco is the first line of eyewear to receive an environmental claims validation (ECV) from UL Environment, which officially certifies the brand is made of recycled materIAl. the cases are made of recycled PET and the packaging is also made with recycled cardboard. the entire brand itself has been aligned with trees for the future, which plants a tree for every pair of frames sold. modo also made Returning glasses for recycling very easy.

Eco Eyeglasses was made from 95% eco-sustainable materials. Eco Eyeglasses eco-friendly materials are validated and certified by the world standard set by the globally recognized safety organization Underwriters Laboratories Environmental evaluators or ULE as a result the Environment Compliance Verification or ECV mark can be seen on every Eco Eyeglasses as mark of standard validation that the eyewear was guaranteed made from naturally sustainable materials. Alessandro drove further on his environment friendly advocacy and collaborated with global environmentalists in pledging and planting a tree for every Eco Eyeglasses sold by the company. Alessandro’s advocacy gained worldwide recognition and over 800,000 trees and counting are planted for environment sustainability. Furthermore, in another report about environmental sustainability, a worldwide estimate conducted by Eyesight Foundation, an organization also supported by Eco Optics, there are around 314 million people worldwide suffering from poor eyesight due to financial incapacity of not affording a decent eye examination and correct eye treatment. In line with this advocacy, Alessandro urged eyewear users to donate their pre-owned eyewear frames so other people can re-use them. A move he sees for people who can’t afford a full eyewear and wanted to enjoy vision clarity.
