Message from President and CEO
In July 2021, when the company reached its 33rd term, I Fukunaga was appointed as the representative director to succeed Hiroe Imai.
As Chairman and Brand Producer, Imai will devote himself to manufacturing and brand creation activities, and I will be in charge of overall company management to spread brands and products to the world and to build a stronger organization. For example, Imai is a person who sows seeds and grows seedlings, and I have the image of a person who grows large seedlings by cultivating the soil, watering and nourishing them. With this system change, we will surely carry out our mission of "growing the brand SHIRO and the company Shiro into something that will last for 100 years and 200 years."
I believe that "things that last for 100 years" require more than just quantitative performance, such as company sales and product sales. We will also focus on "providing value unique to SHIRO with a will" such as attractive and unique manufacturing perspectives and technologies, products and brand stories that customers will love.
At the end of 2022, a new factory is scheduled to be completed in Sunagawa City, Hokkaido, where the company was founded. This is not just a manufacturing base, but also serves as a tourism resource for the area, which also has accommodation and activity facilities. We are particular about manufacturing that conveys the existence of wonderful materials and producers to the world, and aim to increase the value of companies and brands that are born naturally by supporting the region through initiatives related to clothing, food, housing, sports and education. We will also provide more employees with fields of activity and growth, and work to develop human resources who will lead the next era. Believing that is the mission of SHIRO and Shiro, we will continue to work on management.
