This project is about sustainable furniture for the entire family with the principles of circular design. We upcycle HDPE plastic sheets into durable pieces fit for different generations and purposes with the aim of encouraging a positive consumption pattern that inspires even the youngest user.
We use exclusively non-toxic, recycled HDPE plastic from secondary raw materials. Plastic is a revolutionary material with incredible properties and it is not only essential for many industries and full of advantages for the everyday life: it is lightweight yet strong, water-resistant, shock-resistant, thermally insulating and easy to clean. We believe it is the exact opposite of rubbish and is entirely useful when used the right way. Acknowledging that the plastic already produced is here to stay, we attempt to make the most of it.

We are Dirk and Julieta, a multicultural couple based in Berlin and parents of two children. We started this project with the aim of trying to create a better future for -and with- our daughters. In the process, we’ve come to realize two facts about the waste we produce as a household: One, kids’ furniture made only for the fugitive years of childhood is not efficient. And two, a piece of plastic won’t decompose in our children’s lifetime. After this double enlightening realization, we felt compelled to try to put our past experiences to work and turn them into alternatives for the future.
